3D Pong
Classic Pong. Rendered in three dimensions.
3D Pong is a browser arcade game built as the first proof of concept for the DN 3D web framework.
Concept
Classic Pong mechanics — unchanged. Two paddles, one ball, first to 7 wins. What changes is the rendering layer: the game world is a Three.js 3D scene. The court sits on the Y=0 plane at world origin 0,0,0 — a real location in a larger fog-lit world that extends in all directions.
This is the foundational pattern for every future DN 3D game: game logic stays pure 2D data (positions, velocities, collision). Three.js reads that data each frame and positions the meshes. The renderer is a separate concern from the game.
Controls
- Mouse — move the teal paddle left / right
- Touch / drag — same on mobile and tablet
- A / D or ← / → — keyboard fallback
- AI controls the amber paddle
Under the Hood
Built on the DN 3D framework proof of concept (Phase 3D-1).
Three.js r165 loaded via ES module importmap — no bundler, no build step.
Runs as a self-contained HTML file in public/games/3d-pong/.
